About TAI Modern
TAI Modern is the product of a merging of two Santa Fe galleries: TAI Gallery and Eight Modern. TAI Gallery has been the world's premier gallery for contemporary Japanese bamboo art for nearly twenty years. Since 2007, Eight Modern has represented a talented group of contemporary painters, sculptors, photographers and new media artists. Since these galleries merged into TAI Modern in 2014, they have continued to exhibit Eight Modern-selected artists as well as the more than forty Japanese masters cherished and promoted by TAI Gallery.
Margo Thoma, Jaquelin Loyd and Lauren Tresp from Eight Modern have joined forces with the TAI team: Koichiro Okada, Steve Halvorsen, Susan Perry and Ai Krasner. TAI Modern continues to occupy the beautiful space at 1601 Paseo de Peralta in the Railyard Arts District, Santa Fe's center for contemporary arts.
We are all delighted with the merger and fully intend to carry on both TAI Gallery's and Eight Modern's commitment to quality exhibitions, a passion for great art, and a deep respect for the artists we represent. There is much to be accomplished. We are excited to embrace the new opportunities of our fusion, and will keep you informed as our programming continues to develop.
